PP Food Container Recycling Line

Post-consumer takeaway packaging carries oil, sauce and food residue that ordinary washing cannot lift. This line adds staged hot washing, dosing and odour control before drying.

Scope

Why food containers need a dedicated route

Oil and protein residue sit inside the container wall and re-contaminate the wash water. Removing them needs temperature, chemistry and dwell time rather than more mechanical agitation.

Post-consumer PP food containers before washing

Material fit

PP lunch boxes, cups, trays and clamshells from collection and sorting facilities.

Hot washing and float-sink tank for PP containers

Contamination handled

Cooking oil, sauce, food residue, printed labels, cutlery and metal closures.

Washed PP flakes after dewatering

Output quality

Flakes with oil and odour reduced to a level your granulator and end customer accept.

The published LVKE washing-line series below is the starting point; hot-wash dosing and odour control are added per project.

Process

Process sequence

The first three stages do the work that a cold wash cannot.

De-baling

Baled containers are loosened and metered.

Pre-wash

Loose food residue is flushed before it enters the main bath.

Crushing

Size reduction exposes the inner surface to the wash liquor.

Hot washing

Temperature and detergent lift oil from the polymer surface.

Rinsing and separation

Clean water rinse, then density separation of sinks.

Dewatering and drying

Moisture removed to the level your granulator accepts.

Equipment inside

Machines inside this line

Hot-wash tanks, dosing units and odour control are engineered to the residue load found in your bales.

FAQ

Common questions

Is a standard washing line enough for food containers?

Usually not. Oil and protein residue need heated wash liquor and dosing; a cold mechanical wash leaves film on the flake surface.

Can odour be controlled?

Yes — odour control is configured as part of the line. The exact scope depends on the residue level in your feedstock and is confirmed after material testing.

What happens to the wash water?

The line uses a closed-loop water system with settling, filtration and treatment; discharge quality is designed around local requirements.

Can I start with a smaller line and expand?

Yes. Many projects start on WL-500 or WL-1000 and add hot-wash capacity as volumes grow.
