Vertical (VD)
Centrifugal dewatering for PET flakes and rigid plastic regrind; dewatering rate 95% or higher.

Removing water mechanically is cheaper than removing it thermally. Vertical machines spin flakes dry by centrifugal force; horizontal machines squeeze film and bags by screw pressure.
The choice is set by material form, not by capacity alone: rigid flakes behave differently from film and woven bags inside a dewatering chamber.

Centrifugal dewatering for PET flakes and rigid plastic regrind; dewatering rate 95% or higher.

Screw-press dewatering for PE/PP film, woven bags and agricultural film; outlet moisture 3-15% by model.

Less water carried into the dryer means lower energy cost and higher drying stability.
Values as published for the VD (vertical) and HD (horizontal) series.

Published figures. Vertical machines are rated by dewatering rate; horizontal machines by outlet moisture, which rises with throughput on the same model.
Match the structure to the material, then size for throughput.
PET flakes and regrind — vertical centrifugal dewatering.
PE/PP film, woven bags, agricultural film — horizontal screw press.
Heavily wetted or irregular material — inclined configuration avoids blocking.
The drier the outlet, the less energy the thermal dryer needs.
Dewatering is followed by thermal drying when the target moisture is below what mechanical removal can reach.
Vertical for rigid flakes and regrind, horizontal for film, woven bags and other light material. Capacity and moisture targets confirm the model.
Vertical machines are published at a dewatering rate of 95% or higher; horizontal machines reach 3-15% outlet moisture depending on model and throughput.
It can, but efficiency drops. Separate structures exist because the two materials behave differently in the chamber.
If your granulator or end customer needs lower moisture than mechanical dewatering gives, yes — the dryer is sized on the outlet moisture of this machine.
